The barcelona
history, like all of Spanish history, goes way back to Roman
times but we usually see it marked from when the Arabs came in the
700´s
up until now. There are three very distinct eras in the history
of Barcelona:
- The Muslims conquering and leaving this area.
- The strong 13 th, 14 th and 15 th centuries.
- Modern barcelonian history and its constant growth.

The Muslims left
a very deep, long lasting and positive print in the barcelona history.
The architecture in its cathedrals, temples and buildings is at its
finest. The strong, fighting character and personality constantly
shows through, especially in the manner in which they do business.
Many towns still bear Arab names as so does the cuisine specialties
with its particular flavoring and smells.
As a result of

powerful province, including control over many ports and an impressive
political stronghold in and out of barcelona . So strong that barcelona

ever. Barcelona
has grown at a dizzy rate leading up to how we see it at present. Nowadays,
the International Fair from 1929, the Olympic games and the renovated
port from 1992 and this year´s 2004 Forum has
been able to enhance modern barcelona history.
